Trace Adkins has more than music notes dancing around in his head right now. The man who is just as well-known for his outspoken comments and songs that fall just a little left of center is also a comic-book hero and an actor. And to broaden his acting resume, he’s headed to Los Angeles to join Matthew McConaughey in ‘The Lincoln Lawyer.’
Trace once said his ideal role would be that of a gunslinger who rides into town, takes care of business and rides off-screen without ever saying a word. The singer will be riding a different kind of horse in his new movie role as the leader of a biker gang. He says riding a motorcycle and leading a gang of men in leather jackets and boots will not be a hard task for him. Read more »

Trace Adkins was pondering a move to good friend Toby Keith’s record label when Adkins heard the words every singer wants to hear.
Adkins offered to would fly to Keith’s house in Oklahoma to play him what was to become “Cowboy’s Back In Town, when Keith told him, “I don’t need to hear what you do.”
“Right there he basically said, ‘I know who you are. I know what you do. You don’t need to change anything for me,’” Adkins recalled.
Adkins signed on as Show Dog-Universal Music’s first new recruit and eight months later, the big man’s latest album is the label’s first major release. “Cowboy’s Back in Town,” released this week, is a mostly lighthearted romp that includes just one ballad. The man with one of country’s most distinctive voices said he was aiming for the same kind of energy generated by his live show.

Trace Adkins’ highly-anticipated new album, ‘Cowboy’s Back in Town,’ hits stores nationwide on August 17. The 11-track album is filled with the kind of music Trace’s fans have come to expect from the country superstar — crowd pleasing rompers mixed with heartfelt ballads, all delivered with honesty that resonates through his booming baritone.
“There was really nothing that different as far as the selection of the material,” Trace tells The Boot. “And nothing different than what I’ve been doing over the years. I’m just continuing to grow with each album.”
While he is no stranger to making music (‘Cowboy’s Back in Town’ marks the superstar’s 11th album to date), Trace’s latest release represents the beginning of a new chapter in his career.
